Turkmenistan steps up training of oil and gas sector specialists

The country's fuel and energy industry actively applies advanced global practices and digital technologies, with a particular focus on training highly qualified personnel. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister presented a corresponding proposal to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. After hearing the report, the Head of State emphasised that the country is successfully working to train professionals for the oil and gas complex with international experience, and, supporting the initiative, instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to organise the implementation of the necessary measures.


Turkmen-Turkish cooperation: new opportunities for business and investment

Turkmenistan received equipment from the UN for the safe disposal of medical waste

The United Nations Development Programme has donated equipment for medical waste disposal worth a total of €1.01 million to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the online publication ‘Business Turkmenistan’. Seven ‘Bertin Sterilwave 100C’ units for solid waste and two ‘Medister 160’ units for liquid waste have been installed in infectious disease prevention institutions and centres at the central and regional levels. The equipment allows waste to be neutralised directly in medical facilities, turning it into safe material that can be disposed of as ordinary rubbish. Previously, similar units were transferred to the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Service and the Blood Centre in Ashgabat.


Turkmenistan and Qatar sign memorandum on scientific and cultural cooperation

The country will present a national pavilion within the framework of the exhibition's theme ‘Play for Humanity - Sport and Music for All’ under the motto ‘Turkmenistan – the Melody of Peace, the Land of Health’. After hearing the report, the Head of State emphasised the development of Turkmenistan's international trade and economic ties and instructed that proper preparations be made for participation in ‘EXPO-2027’.


Turkmenistan and the EU strengthen cooperation on climate issues

On 22 January, the third meeting of the Coordination Committee of the project ‘EU for a Green Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024-2028’ was held in Ashgabat. It includes two pilot projects on climate change adaptation and environmental impact reduction. The American delegation visited Ancient Nisa and the Turkmen State Circus

US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll and US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor, who are visiting Turkmenistan, took part in a cultural programme at the end of the official part of their visit. This was reported by IIC. The guests visited the Turkmen State Circus. They were entertained by the ‘Galkynysh’ national equestrian games group, six-time world champions and winners of the 47th International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo. In addition, the American representatives visited Ancient Nisa, located 18 kilometres from Ashgabat. The monument is part of the Nisa State Historical and Cultural Reserve and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The excursion covered both settlements — New and Old Nisa, dating from the 1st millennium BC to the 1st millennium AD.


Turkmenistan and Belgium discussed the development of interparliamentary cooperation

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan, together with the ambassadors of Central Asian countries and Mongolia accredited in Brussels, held a meeting with the President of the Belgian House of Representatives, Peter De Roover.
