OJSC “Senagat Tehnologiýalary” presented reverse vending machines—automated devices for accepting plastic and aluminum containers with a bonus system—at the 25th International Multidisciplinary Exhibition “White City Ashgabat”. This was reported by Turkmenportal.
The devices accept empty, dry, and clean bottles and cans with a volume of up to two liters. For each returned item, users receive bonus points in the mobile application “Eko Ädim”, which is currently under development. Accumulated points can be used to pay for online services.
The company notes that the project is aimed at developing a separate waste collection system in the country. The machines are also equipped with a recognition system that prevents the acceptance of damaged or contaminated containers. A pilot project is planned in central districts of Ashgabat, followed by a citywide expansion of the network.
OJSC “Senagat Tehnologiýalary” was established by the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the private enterprise “Algap”, which is part of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country.
