Igor Yermolayev, a student at the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Natural Sciences at North Caucasus Federal University, who came from Turkmenistan, won the All-Russian ‘Foreign Student of the Year’ Award in the ‘Scientific Breakthrough of the Year’ category. On 26 November, the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas held an international scientific and practical conference entitled ‘Prospects and Implementation of Digital Innovative Technologies in the Scientific and Educational Sphere.’ The forum was held in a hybrid format and was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, according to the state news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. The event was attended by representatives of universities, scientific organisations, relevant companies, ministries and international structures. In total, the conference brought together about 1,500 participants from 22 countries. Before the start of the conference, guests were introduced to an exhibition of digital solutions and educational projects prepared by the university. After the grand opening, a plenary session was held, where more than 30 reports were presented. The work then continued in three sections: ‘Digitization and Digital Technologies in the Education System’, ‘Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence’, and ‘The Role of the Digital Economy in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals’. A total of more than 120 reports were heard. The main purpose of the forum was to discuss trends in digital technologies and their integration into education and science, as well as to develop international cooperation in this area. The speakers noted Turkmenistan's achievements in the field of digital solutions, which were made possible due to long-term development programmes and the introduction of modern technologies. Participants emphasised Turkmenistan's readiness to expand partnerships with foreign universities, companies and international organisations in the field of science and technology.
On 25 November, a conference organised by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Italian Republic in conjunction with the Italian Institute for Asia (ISIA) was held at Palazzo Valentini. The Turkmen delegation, under the leadership of President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, A. Ashirov, presented events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality, the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, and the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. A separate section was devoted to the work of Magtymguly Pyragy. It was noted that the publication of 130 poems by the poet in Italian was the result of the work of Italian Orientalists with the advisory support of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and reflects the active humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. On the same day, the Turkmen delegation held meetings with the Head of the Cultural Heritage Department of Rome, Claudio Parisi Presicce, Senator Francesco Verducci of the Standing Committee on Education and Cultural Heritage of the Senate of the Republic, and Gianluigi Consoli, First Deputy Minister for Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Universities and Research of Italy.
Diplomats and cyber strategy specialists from Turkmenistan's state institutions took part in an OSCE course on the impact of cybersecurity and digital technologies on international diplomacy. The training took place on 27–28 November in Ashgabat in a mixed format, according to IIC. The course was organised by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat in cooperation with the Estonian e-Governance Academy (eGA). Participants were introduced to the basic principles of cyber diplomacy and discussed how to incorporate this approach into the national cyber ecosystem. The parties discussed the need to better coordinate the work of diplomatic and technical specialists, take into account cybersecurity priorities in foreign policy, and strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Experts from eGA held online sessions on the role of digital technologies in geopolitics, multilateral processes and the legal regulation of cyberspace. Sixteen representatives of government agencies and universities working in the fields of diplomacy, cyber strategy, cybersecurity and IT participated in the training.
A delegation from Turkmenistan is participating in an investor forum on the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and the development of connectivity, which is being held in Tashkent. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan. The event focuses on expanding the route's capabilities and strengthening international partnerships in the transport sector. Representatives from the EU, the Black Sea region and Central Asia are participating in the forum. The forum's organisers aim to create new growth points for the region's transport and logistics potential and to increase the efficiency of existing routes. The Trans-Caspian transport route, known as the Middle Corridor, connects Europe and Asia and is actively used for container transport by both rail and sea.
On 24 November, a Turkmen delegation led by the head of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Allaberdi Ashirov, visited the Italian city of Acquasparta. This was reported by the news agency Orient. The delegation was received by the mayor of the city, Giovanni Montani. During the visit, the delegation visited the Palazzo Cesi, the world's first academy of sciences, where Galileo Galilei worked, and key cultural and scientific sites in the region. Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atageldi Shamyradov is participating in the 42nd meeting of the Permanent Council of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), which is being held on 28 November in Kazakhstan. At the end of the event, more than 100 creative groups from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey, as well as leading Kazakh artists, are to perform on the main stage. A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Minister of Construction and Architecture Abdulla Geldiyev, took part in the ‘Big 5 Global 2025’ International Exhibition and Conference, which was held in Dubai from 24 to 27 November, at the invitation of UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei. The delegation's participation confirmed the high level of cooperation between the countries and the importance of Turkmenistan as a partner in the field of construction and infrastructure. A delegation from Turkmenistan under the head of Deputy Minister of Culture Nursahet Shirimov is participating in the International Conference ‘Cultural Crossroads’, which began on 27 November in Yerevan. The event is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. The opening ceremony was held at the Matenadaran Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, followed by a plenary session, which was held on the results and prospects of the implementation of the 2005 Convention. Turkmenistan is represented by a national pavilion organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, according to the online news resource TerraNews. The Turkmen delegation includes business representatives who will hold a series of B2B meetings and other business events over four days. The main objectives are to expand partnerships, discuss joint projects and promote national products to foreign markets. Participation in ‘Halal Expo 2025’ provides an opportunity to study trends in the global halal industry, hold negotiations with manufacturers and investors, and assess the prospects for the development of national business.
The Turkmenistan weightlifting team won eight gold and four bronze medals at the 6th International Fajr Cup, which is being held in Tehran from 26 to 30 November. This was reported by Turkmenportal with reference to the Weightlifting Federation of Turkmenistan. Thirty-seven athletes from eight countries are participating in the competition: Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Seyitjan Mirzayev (up to 60 kg) and Bunyad Rashidov (up to 71 kg) won three gold medals in their weight categories. Mirzayev lifted 124 kg in the snatch, 150 kg in the clean and jerk and 274 kg in total. Rashidov lifted 150 kg in the snatch, 165 kg in the clean and jerk and 315 kg in the total. Gaygysyz Torayev (up to 79 kg) won two gold medals — in the clean and jerk (187 kg) and total (332 kg), as well as bronze in the snatch (145 kg). Bronze medals were also won by Ramazan Torayev (up to 88 kg) in the clean and jerk (176 kg) and total (316 kg), and Galkan Rahmanov (up to 88 kg) in the snatch (145 kg). Turkmenistan is represented by seven athletes in the tournament. On 28 November, Rustem Annaberdiyev (up to 94 kg) and Davranbek Hasanbayev (up to 110 kg) will compete. The judging panel includes Aman Meredov, a representative of Turkmenistan.
On 26–27 November, the third meeting of the Turkmen-Qatari Inter-governmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Doha. The meeting brought together representatives of government agencies and business circles of the two countries, according to the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan. The meeting was chaired by Nazar Agahanov, Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, and Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar. Before the main part of the meeting, the ministers held a separate meeting where they discussed areas for developing the partnership, paying particular attention to trade and economic issues. The agenda of the meeting covered issues of cooperation in the political, diplomatic, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The parties emphasised the importance of the commission for the implementation of the agreements reached and the coordination of promising areas of cooperation. The participants reviewed the current status of projects in trade, transport and logistics, oil and gas and industrial sectors, agriculture, water resources, investment and banking. They also discussed the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting. Separately, the parties exchanged views on cooperation in science, education, culture, healthcare, sports, tourism and ecology. Following the meeting, the Protocol of the third meeting of the Turkmen-Qatari Inter-governmental Commission was signed. The parties confirmed their readiness to continue regular consultations and expand dialogue.
