Uzbekistan proposed expanding cooperation in the Caspian Sea during a meeting in Avaza

During a trilateral summit meeting in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed developing cooperation in geological exploration and development of Caspian deposits. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the potential of the Caspian Sea opens up broad prospects for strengthening partnership and energy security in the region.

The President of Uzbekistan also expressed interest in creating ferry facilities for cargo transportation across the Caspian Sea, emphasising the importance of modern transport infrastructure for trade growth and interregional connectivity.

The parties confirmed their intention to expand cooperation in strategically important areas and develop new areas of partnership.
