A state awards ceremony was held in Turkmenistan

On 20 September, in Ashgabat, the state honours and titles award ceremony was held to present state honours and titles to representatives of various fields. The awards were presented on the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, according to the state news agency TDH.

On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, many citizens were awarded the ‘Gaýrat’ and ‘Watana bolan söýgüsi üçin’ medals, the ‘Zenan kalby’ order, and were also awarded the titles of People's and Honoured Workers in the fields of art, industry, education, media and other sectors.

The contribution of women and the older generation was particularly highlighted. Foreign citizens were awarded the ‘Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna’ jubilee medal. The participants expressed their gratitude to the Head of State and declared their readiness to continue working for the good of the country.

On the same day, an award ceremony was held for creative workers and winners of the ‘Türkmeniň Altyn asyry’ competition. The President of Turkmenistan noted the significance of their contribution to the development of national culture and the international authority of Turkmenistan.

A festive concert concluded the events, symbolising the recognition of the role of art in the public life of the country.
