Turkmenistan and Qatar held the third meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Doha

On 26–27 November, the third meeting of the Turkmen-Qatari Inter-governmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Doha. The meeting brought together representatives of government agencies and business circles of the two countries, according to the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was chaired by Nazar Agahanov, Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, and Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar.

Before the main part of the meeting, the ministers held a separate meeting where they discussed areas for developing the partnership, paying particular attention to trade and economic issues.

The agenda of the meeting covered issues of cooperation in the political, diplomatic, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The parties emphasised the importance of the commission for the implementation of the agreements reached and the coordination of promising areas of cooperation.

The participants reviewed the current status of projects in trade, transport and logistics, oil and gas and industrial sectors, agriculture, water resources, investment and banking. They also discussed the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting.

Separately, the parties exchanged views on cooperation in science, education, culture, healthcare, sports, tourism and ecology.

Following the meeting, the Protocol of the third meeting of the Turkmen-Qatari Inter-governmental Commission was signed. The parties confirmed their readiness to continue regular consultations and expand dialogue.
