On 16 May, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted talks between Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmet Gurbanov and an Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by Chairman of the Iran-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Abdoljalal Iri. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting, held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, was devoted to topical issues of bilateral cooperation. The parties discussed the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, as well as promising projects in the spheres of energy, transport, trade, culture and education. Special attention was paid to the strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties, including the activities of the friendship group.
Summing up the meeting, the sides expressed confidence in the significant potential of Turkmen-Iranian relations based on the traditions of good-neighbourliness and mutual respect. Readiness for further expansion of cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest was noted.
