Turkmenistan and Georgia strengthen interparliamentary dialogue

On 21 October 2025, a meeting was held in the Georgian Parliament between Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkmenistan, and Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament. This was reported by the online news resource TerraNews.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation as an important element in strengthening friendly ties and expanding comprehensive partnership between the two states.

Rashid Meredov noted the significant role of parliamentary diplomacy in foreign policy, emphasising that close cooperation between legislative bodies contributes to the steady development of bilateral relations. He also stated that the political dialogue between Turkmenistan and Georgia has reached a new qualitative level and is highly dynamic.

The interlocutors confirmed their desire to continue strengthening relations on the basis of equality, trust and mutual respect, promoting the development of a strategic partnership in the interests of the peoples of both countries.
