Turkmenistan and the UN discussed the organisation of joint events

On 13 August, a meeting was held at the Permanent Mission of the United Nations in Tajikistan between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Tajikistan, Aymyrat Gochmyradov, and the UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, Ramaswamy Parvati. This was reported by the online publication ArzuwNews.

The interlocutors noted Turkmenistan's active participation in the work of the UN and reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of neutrality, peaceful coexistence and preventive diplomacy. They discussed joint activities within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the results of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

In addition, the parties discussed the organisation of an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the UN, with the participation of young people, the diplomatic corps and international organisations, where the role of neutrality and preventive diplomacy in ensuring peace and sustainable development will be emphasised.
