Turkmenistan presented its position on promoting peace and stability in Afghanistan at a meeting of the UN Security Council, according to IIC.
Speaking at the briefing, the Turkmen delegation noted that, as a neighboring state, Turkmenistan is interested in ensuring stability and security in Afghanistan. The implementation of major regional infrastructure projects was identified as one of the key factors for the country’s long-term development. These include the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, the TAP power transmission line, as well as the development of railway and transport corridors.
The Turkmen side also emphasized the importance of continuing international dialogue on Afghanistan, highlighting the significance of the Doha Process. According to the delegation, further efforts by the international community should focus on ensuring sustainable development, stability, and prosperity for Afghanistan and the entire region.
