President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated healthcare and medical industry workers on their professional holiday. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The Head of State recalled that 30 years ago, the ‘Saglyk’ State Programme was adopted, and noted that today, the national healthcare system continues to be improved with the aim of strengthening public health, increasing life expectancy and developing sport.

The President of Turkmenistan announced the construction of modern medical and diagnostic and scientific and clinical centres, sanatoriums, health centres and medical equipment manufacturing enterprises, emphasising the international recognition of these achievements.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the development of telemedicine, the introduction of advanced techniques and the improvement of doctors' qualifications, as well as the adoption of national programmes on physiology, health and rehabilitation medicine and immunoprophylaxis, which have brought domestic healthcare to world level.

The Head of State highlighted large-scale projects: the construction of multidisciplinary hospitals, international centres and medical clusters, as well as the activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that measures to protect public health are gaining international recognition and expressed confidence in the further development of the healthcare sector and the medical industry.
