Under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a meeting of the Council of Elders and the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty was held in Ashgabat, dedicated to the organisation of the next congress of the Halk Maslahaty and the celebration of the 34th anniversary of the country's independence. At the meeting of the Council of Elders under the Halk Maslahaty and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation, organisational issues were discussed. In particular, the updated composition of the Council from the capital and the Ahal velayat was approved. The main focus was on preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, where the results of the year are traditionally summarised and strategic tasks for the country's development are determined. The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasised the importance of explaining key issues of the state's domestic and foreign policy to the population.

At the meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, specific organisational decisions were adopted. The participants signed resolutions on the official convening of the national forum and approved its date and venue. A special Organising Committee was set up to coordinate the preparatory work and ensure all aspects of the upcoming congress are taken care of. The meeting was held as part of the preparations for the celebration of the 34th anniversary of independence.
