Turkmenistan reaffirms commitment to anti-doping at COP10 conference

The delegation of Turkmenistan, led by the Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France Maksat Charyev, Head of the International Department of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of Turkmenistan, Shamyrat Serayev, and Chairperson of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan, Leyla Artykova, is participating in the 10th session of the Conference of Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport (COP10), held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris from 20 to 22 October. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The session, timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Convention, covers issues related to the implementation of the Convention, the work of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping, the reform of international cooperation and the strengthening of educational capacity in the anti-doping field.

The event brings together representatives of states, international organisations and experts to discuss integrity in sport, anti-doping education and cooperation.

The Turkmen delegation reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of the Convention and supported UNESCO's efforts to protect the integrity of sport and improve global anti-doping mechanisms.

The country's work is based on state policy under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aimed at developing physical culture, mass sports and fostering a culture of fair play.
