On 31 August, the well-known Chinese newspaper ‘People's Daily’ (‘Renmin Ribao’) published an article by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, entitled ‘Turkmenistan–China: towards strengthening friendship and cooperation’. In the article, the Head of State expressed his gratitude to the publication for the opportunity to address the Chinese audience, detailing the stages of development and the current state of bilateral relations between the PRC and Turkmenistan, noting their strategic depth and multifaceted nature. The article places particular emphasis on cooperation within the framework of China's ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ and Turkmenistan's ‘Revival of the Great Silk Road’ Strategy. The President highlighted the philosophical and practical similarities between these large-scale projects, which determine not only economic but also cultural dialogue between the two countries.

The publication in China's leading official publication comprehensively reflects Turkmenistan's foreign policy priorities aimed at strengthening regional stability, developing transport, logistics and energy corridors, and increasing cultural and humanitarian cooperation. This step confirms Ashgabat's desire to play a key role in ensuring global and regional security and cooperation.
