Turkmenistan congratulated the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences on its 80th anniversary

On 4 November, President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Allaberdi Ashyrov took part in a jubilee meeting dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, which was held in the building of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, members of the Presidium of the Academy, as well as representatives of the academies of sciences of Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Vietnam, Italy, Bulgaria, Montenegro and international scientific organisations.

I. Habibbeyli emphasised that the anniversary contributes to strengthening international scientific cooperation and establishing new partnerships. In his speech, A. Ashyrov congratulated the leadership and staff of the Azerbaijani Academy on its 80th anniversary and noted the growth of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in science, education and culture.

During the meeting, cultural and humanitarian projects were noted: translations of Magtymguly Pyragy’s works into Azerbaijani, the opening of the Centre for Turkmen Literature at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, and the holding of international conferences dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet.

Foreign participants congratulated Azerbaijani scientists and discussed prospects for joint work in science and innovative technologies.
