During his visit to the United States, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.
The parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation, noting the expansion of ties based on mutual respect and neutrality, which contributes to strengthening international stability.
Promising areas of cooperation include finance, pharmaceuticals and ‘green’ energy, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited Keller-Sutter to the International Forum in Ashgabat on 12 December, timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the Year of Peace and Trust. The Swiss President thanked him for the invitation and emphasised the importance of Ashgabat's initiatives in strengthening dialogue and humanitarian cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged warm wishes.
