On 31 October, Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova held a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan Rana Abu Hijleh. This was reported by the press service of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
D. Gulmanova congratulated the diplomat on her appointment and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of friendly and partnership relations between the two countries.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the priorities of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy, the role of parliament in supporting social and economic reforms, as well as the country's initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and stability.
The Ambassador expressed her gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for their humanitarian assistance to Palestine, emphasising that this gesture had become a symbol of friendship and trust between the peoples.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation, noting the importance of developing political, parliamentary and humanitarian contacts. It was also proposed to intensify interaction between relevant committees, as well as young and female parliamentarians, to further strengthen the partnership.
