Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov met with IOM Regional Coordinator for Central Asia Serhan Aktoprak. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the field of migration. Special attention was paid to Turkmenistan's role in resolving humanitarian issues in the Middle East, which is in line with the country's principles of positive neutrality. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

Meredov emphasised Turkmenistan's commitment to ensuring safe and legal migration within the framework of its international obligations. In this regard, the parties agreed to strengthen coordination of actions in emergency situations.

During the meeting, the progress of joint activities was also discussed, including the implementation of the provisions of the Global Compact for Migration. The parties expressed their readiness to further develop fruitful cooperation.
