On 12 November 2025, a telephone conversation was held between the Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Djibouti, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf. This was reported by AsmanNews.

During the conversation, the interlocutors noted the importance of further strengthening political, diplomatic and economic relations between the two states.

Noting the constructive nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Djibouti in the international arena, particularly within the framework of the UN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the parties emphasised the similarity of their positions on issues of peace and sustainable development.

At the end of the negotiations, the Ministers discussed preparations for the International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will be held in Ashgabat in December 2025.
