Turkmen wrestlers won four medals at the Asian U23 Youth Championships

Turkmenistan showed excellent results at the Asian Wrestling Championships for athletes under 23 years of age in Vietnam, winning one silver and three bronze medals. More than 200 athletes from 15 countries participated in the competition. This was reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The main hero of the tournament was 18-year-old Alp Arslan Begenjov (weight category up to 79 kg), who won a silver medal for the team in freestyle wrestling. In a tough final bout, he lost to an Indian wrestler with a score of 2:5, but on his way to the final, he won two convincing victories - 15:4 over Kazakhstan's Askhab Hajiev and 11:0 against Uzbekistan's Daler Chulibayev.

Three bronze medals added to the team's success. In freestyle wrestling, Vatan Annaorazov (up to 74 kg) and Soltan Sanjar Begenjov (up to 86 kg) distinguished themselves. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Didar Orazberdiyev (up to 72 kg) won bronze. Turkmen wrestlers confirmed their progress on the international stage, demonstrating a high level of training.
