Turkmen athletes won 9 medals at the Asian Belt Wrestling Championships, which took place in Fergana (Uzbekistan). The national team secured 3 gold and 6 bronze medals, according to the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden Age’.

In the freestyle belt wrestling events, the gold medallists were Shatlyk Durdygulyev (up to 68 kg), Hekim Tashliyev (up to 100 kg) and Annagurban Allaberdiyev (over 100 kg). Bronze medals were won by Palvan Babajanov (under 57 kg), Hekim Nurberdiyev (under 62 kg) and Myrat Janmamedov (under 82 kg).

In the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament, the bronze medallists were Hojanazar Annayev (up to 75 kg), Batyr Hemrayev (up to 82 kg) and Hekim Tashliyev (up to 100 kg), who finished the championship with two medals.
