President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on June 4 received Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye and Co-Chairman of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation from the Turkish side, Cevdet Yılmaz, who arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit. During the meeting, Cevdet Yılmaz conveyed greetings and best wishes from President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the participants success in the ninth meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and expressed confidence that the talks scheduled during the visit would contribute to the further development of bilateral partnership.
The sides noted the high level of Turkmen-Turkish relations, which continue to develop both bilaterally and within international organizations. They emphasized the role of regular contacts and mutual visits in strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation. It was noted that Turkmenistan and Türkiye are interested in expanding collaboration in modern technologies, science, investment, and economic modernization. In this context, the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Business Council, and bilateral exhibitions was highlighted.
The parties also noted the results of the Exhibition of Export Goods of Turkmenistan held in Istanbul in July 2025 and the Exhibition of Export Goods of the Republic of Türkiye held in Ashgabat in February 2026. According to the sides, such events contribute to the development of trade and economic ties and the expansion of business contacts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Turkmen-Turkish cooperation and expressed confidence in its continued development.
