President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the citizens of the country on International Neutrality Day and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, the state news agency TDH reports.

In his address, he recalled that the status of permanent neutrality was enshrined on December 12, 1995, by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly. This status, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized, became the foundation of the country’s foreign policy and expanded opportunities for international cooperation.

The head of state noted that over the years, Turkmenistan has strengthened its position as a reliable partner, including through the work of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy in Ashgabat and the country’s participation in UN bodies.

The address also stressed that Turkmenistan continues to develop cooperation with international organizations and expand partnerships. Among recent events, the President highlighted the holding of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in Avaza, the adoption of the “Avaza Political Declaration,” and the beginning of construction of the Serhetabat–Herat gas pipeline.

The head of state emphasized the role of independence and neutrality as key pillars of the country’s development and noted that large-scale projects are being implemented in Turkmenistan to modernize infrastructure and improve the quality of life for the population.

In conclusion, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the country’s residents on the holiday and wished them health, well-being, and success.
