The Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3) opened at the Congress Centre of the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan.
Hero Arkadag emphasised the importance of a neutral approach to global challenges, noting the symbolic nature of holding the forum in the year declared the International Year of Peace and Trust.
According to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Turkmenistan's neutrality remains the basis for constructive dialogue on key issues of the international agenda, such as sustainable development, transport connectivity, energy, water and food resources, and healthcare.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recalled the 30th anniversary of the international recognition of Turkmenistan's neutrality and expressed confidence that the conference would strengthen international cooperation. Special attention was paid to public diplomacy, inter-parliamentary relations, education, youth policy and sport.
In conclusion, the National Leader of the Turkmen people wished the participants success and expressed hope for productive results of the forum.
