A unique training course organised by the State Customs Service in cooperation with the Ozone Centre of the Ministry of Environment Protection was held in the city of Arkadag. The event is aimed at training specialists to detect and stop illegal trafficking of ozone-depleting substances and hydrofluorocarbons. This is reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.
As part of the programme, the recruits studied international environmental standards, familiarized themselves with the national legislation, mastered practical methods of detecting smuggling, and underwent special training on identification of hazardous substances.
The Director of the Training Centre under the SCS stressed that such courses are becoming an important platform for the professional development of employees and strengthening the country's environmental security.
