Registration has been announced in Turkmenistan for participants of the International Exhibition and Scientific Conference “Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Era of the Renaissance of a New Epoch of a Powerful State,” organized by relevant government bodies, including the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the IIC reports. The forum will take place in Ashgabat on 10–12 October 2026 in a hybrid format with both in-person and online participation. The working languages are Turkmen, English, and Russian. The program includes 22 thematic sections covering medicine (cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, surgery, maternal and child health, digital medicine, epidemiology), education (innovative technologies, digital economy, language teaching, development of exact sciences), and sports (Olympic training and development of national teams). The event aims to facilitate the exchange of experience, present scientific and technological achievements, and promote international cooperation in socially significant fields.
Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Austria, Hemra Amannazarov, held a meeting in Vienna on June 2 with the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Gerd Müller. The parties discussed expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNIDO in the areas of sustainable industrial development, economic diversification, innovation, and capacity building. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on June 4 received Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye and Co-Chairman of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation from the Turkish side, Cevdet Yılmaz, who arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit. The second stage of a professional development program for football managers has begun in the conference hall of the “Yyldyz” hotel in Ashgabat. The training is organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in cooperation with the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, according to the IIC. The course is focused on studying modern approaches to football management, introducing international experience, and improving efficiency in sports administration. The sessions are held in a blended format and include both theoretical lectures and practical training sessions led by AFC international instructors. The program involves 29 specialists from Turkmenistan. The project aims to develop the country’s football management system and raise the professional level of sports personnel.
From June 1 to 2, the 14th meeting of the Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB Europe) and the Regional Training Centers of the European Region of the World Customs Organization (WCO) was held online. Representatives of the WCO Regional Training Center in Turkmenistan took part in the event, presenting information on the center’s activities and practical working experience, according to the press service of the Customs Service of Turkmenistan. The main focus of the participants was the presentation and testing of the new RTCs’ Dashboard, designed to improve the effectiveness of interaction, coordination, and information exchange between regional structures. Prospects for further cooperation and current issues related to customs personnel training were also discussed. Representatives of the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” of the Republic of Uzbekistan have completed a professional internship in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”. The internship took place from May 16 to June 1 within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University. The program involved 19 students and two faculty members from the Uzbek university. They visited enterprises in the agricultural and water management sectors, including the Hydropark water pumping station and the production enterprise “Obakhyzmat” in the Ak Bugday district. They also took part in lectures and practical classes organized by faculty members of the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University. A cultural program was also arranged for the guests, including visits to the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the State Central Botanical Garden, and the “Tashkent” park in the capital. At the end of the visit, the Uzbek delegation expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for organizing the internship. A reciprocal visit by faculty members and students of the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University to Uzbekistan is planned in the near future.
A Turkmen-American business forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan with the participation of representatives of government bodies and business communities of both countries, according to the IIC. The Turkmen delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev, while the American side was represented by Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmen-American Business Council. The forum was attended by representatives of companies such as Climate Compass, CNH Industrial, Coca-Cola, John Deere, Palo Alto Networks, Sig Sauer, Valley Irrigation, and Westport Trading Europe Limited. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of Turkmen-American trade and economic cooperation. It was noted that American companies have been operating in various sectors of Turkmenistan’s economy for many years and are interested in further expanding their partnership. Priority areas of cooperation include energy, transport and communications, agriculture and agro-industry, high technologies, the oil and gas sector, power engineering, trade, banking, and environmental protection. As part of the forum, bilateral meetings were also held between representatives of Turkmen ministries, agencies, and the private sector with American businesspeople, where joint projects and prospects for cooperation were discussed.
Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan held a working meeting to discuss activities planned for the second and third quarters of 2026 under the 2026–2027 Action Plan for the project “Supporting the Strengthening of Systems and Tools for the Promotion of Gender Equality in Legislation.” This was reported by the press service of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. A ceremony for the signing of documents between Turkmenistan’s ministries and agencies and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on June 3. The event took place as part of celebrations marking World Bicycle Day, which was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan. In this context, the parties signed a number of new agreements, including a Framework Agreement on Co-Financing between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNDP.
