On 29 June, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

Matvienko congratulated the Hero Arkadag on his birthday, wished him good health and success, and noted his contribution to the development of Turkmen-Russian relations. She conveyed greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked her for her warm words and emphasised Matviyenko's important role in strengthening bilateral dialogue.
