A ceremony for the signing of documents between Turkmenistan’s ministries and agencies and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on June 3. The event took place as part of celebrations marking World Bicycle Day, which was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the press service of the country’s foreign ministry.
Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations and its agencies is carried out on a systematic basis. In this context, the parties signed a number of new agreements, including a Framework Agreement on Co-Financing between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNDP.
A Work Plan for 2026 under the judicial system digital transformation project was also signed between the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan and UNDP. In addition, amendments were introduced to the project supporting the National Tuberculosis Control Programme between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and UNDP.
Another document signed was the 2026–2027 Work Plan on the development of a national strategic human capital planning system between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and UNDP.
