Turkmen performances captivate international audiences

The 3rd International Theatre Festival of TURKSOY, which brought together troupes from nine countries, including Turkmenistan, has come to an end in Aktau. This was reported by the news website Asmannews.

The N. Zhanturin Drama Theatre staged performances reflecting the history and traditions of the Turkic peoples, which were highly praised by the jury.

The Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi State Drama Theatre of the Balkan velayat received an award for promoting national traditions for its production of ‘Baýram han türkmen’, timed to coincide with the 34th anniversary of the country's independence. Agamyrat Baltayev, representative of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, was also awarded an honorary diploma by TURKSOY.

The festival included master classes, seminars and exhibitions of theatre costumes, decorative and applied arts and national musical instruments, which contributed to the exchange of experience between theatre professionals. The artists also visited the sights of Aktau.

The festival ended with a festive concert. TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Rayev emphasised the development of international festivals in a new format. The event strengthened the cultural ties between the Turkic peoples and gave the audience a vivid impression.
