On 15 July 2026, the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan adopted a Resolution on the establishment of an Organising Committee to hold a high-level session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan to mark the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. This was reported by the news agency TDH.

According to the document, the composition of the Organising Committee has been approved. The Secretariat of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, in conjunction with the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, has been tasked with providing organisational and methodological support to the velayat, etrap and city Halk Maslahaty in the preparation and conduct of the session, as well as coordinating the relevant work.

The Resolution was signed by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
