Large medical facilities to be built in Turkmenistan

As part of the further development of the national healthcare system and the strengthening of its material and technical base, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has signed a number of Resolutions on the creation of modern medical facilities equipped to international standards. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

According to the documents, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry has been instructed to conclude a contract with the Turkish company ‘Gap Inşaat Yatırım ve Dış Tiсaret A.Ş.’ for the design and construction of a 500-bed multi-profile hospital in Ashgabat, including the improvement of the surrounding area, the provision of modern medical equipment, spare parts and consumables, as well as special training for staff. Construction will begin in October 2025, and commissioning is planned for February 2029.

In addition, a 300-bed multi-profile hospital will be built in the city of Tejen in the Ahal region, and a 400-bed mother and child health centre will be built in Dashoguz. Both facilities will be built by the ‘Şadyýan gurluşyk’ Economic Society, which will also be responsible for landscaping the grounds, equipping the facilities with modern medical equipment and training staff. Work on these facilities will begin in October 2025, with construction scheduled for completion in October 2028.

The new healthcare facilities are designed to significantly improve the level of specialised medical care for the population, provide access to modern treatment technologies and strengthen the health protection of mothers and children.
