The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met at Ashgabat International Airport with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, who arrived to participate in international events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, TDH reports.

In accordance with national hospitality traditions, the distinguished guest was presented with bread and salt, as well as flowers. This was followed by a meeting between the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Tajikistan.

Hero Arkadag thanked the Tajik leader for accepting the invitation to the International Forum, noting the importance of the participation of a friendly country in the anniversary celebrations. In turn, Emomali Rahmon expressed his gratitude for the invitation and emphasized that the upcoming Forum would serve as a clear demonstration of Turkmenistan’s effective foreign policy aimed at strengthening global peace, sustainable development, and trust-based international cooperation.

It was noted that the international community is currently observing International Neutrality Day and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutral status, while the white-marble city of Ashgabat is hosting foreign guests arriving for the ceremonial events. The President of Tajikistan emphasized that he considers it an honor to participate in this event and wished success to the upcoming Forum.

During the conversation, the sides discussed key areas of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening it across all mutually beneficial directions.
