Turkmenistan and Niger reaffirm commitment to developing friendly relations

On 12 November, a meeting was held between Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Niger to Turkmenistan (residing in Tehran) Seydou Zatou Ali. At the beginning of the meeting, the diplomat presented copies of his credentials, according to TerraNews.

Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in his activities aimed at strengthening and developing Turkmen-Nigerian relations.

During the negotiations, issues of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest were discussed, as well as prospects for further cooperation.

The parties confirmed their commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue within international organisations, primarily the United Nations, and emphasised the importance of regular contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, Seydou Zatou Ali thanked the Turkmen side for the warm welcome and expressed his intention to actively promote the further strengthening of friendly ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Niger.
