Turkmenistan and Japan have confirmed their readiness to accelerate preparations for the first summit of leaders of the ‘Central Asia + Japan’ Dialogue. This became known after a meeting between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, A. Bayramov, and the Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Eri Arfiya, according to IIC.
The parties announced their intention to continue coordination for the earliest possible holding of the summit and noted the importance of cooperation in international forums.
The main goal of the meeting was to bring the ‘Central Asia + Japan’ format to the level of Heads of State and to strengthen work on economic security, infrastructure projects and decarbonisation.
Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Japan A. Bayramov also discussed the Japanese delegation's participation in events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which are planned in Ashgabat in December 2025.
