On 11 July, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Sudan, Monday Simaya Kumba. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.
During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and coordination of positions in preparation for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3).
The Ministers confirmed their mutual interest in deepening partnership both on a bilateral basis and within international organisations. The upcoming LLDC 3 conference, according to the parties, should become an important platform for developing effective solutions to the problems of landlocked developing countries.
