The Ambassador of Turkmenistan, together with the ambassadors of Central Asian countries and Mongolia accredited in Brussels, held a meeting with the President of the Belgian House of Representatives, Peter De Roover. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Belgium.

The parties discussed the development of relations between Belgium and Central Asian countries, including bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan. The growing interest of European countries in cooperation with the region was noted.

Special attention was paid to inter-parliamentary dialogue. The possibility of holding a meeting of the parliamentary friendship group between the parliaments of Belgium and Turkmenistan in Belgium in March was considered. The need to give this format practical content was emphasised.

During the negotiations, issues of transport connectivity, energy, climate and education were also touched upon. The prospects for expanding contacts between people, educational and cultural circles were discussed.

Following the meeting, the readiness to further develop parliamentary ties and expand cooperation between Belgium and the states of Central Asia, including Turkmenistan, was confirmed.
