Turkmenistan is stepping up its international activities ahead of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which will be held in August in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone. The forum will be a significant step in the development of sustainable and inclusive cooperation. This was reported by the online news resource TerraNews.

The decision to hold the conference in Turkmenistan reflects recognition of its constructive foreign policy and contribution to the development of transport corridors for landlocked countries.

Preparations are being coordinated at a high level, with briefings and consultations with the UN, UNCTAD and regional commissions. Regional meetings are also being initiated to align positions on the new UN Programme of Action for 2024-2034, with a focus on sustainable logistics, digital trade and market access.

The conference opens up strategic prospects for Turkmenistan: strengthening its diplomatic status, attracting investment in logistics, promoting national initiatives and expanding international cooperation, especially with developing countries.

The forum will also serve as a platform for concluding agreements aimed at developing infrastructure and simplifying trade procedures. This will confirm Turkmenistan's commitment to actively participating in addressing global challenges and strengthening transport integration.
