On 25 November, the 177th session of the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) was held in Paris. Turkmenistan was represented by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France, Representative to the BIE Maksat Charyev, according to the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The meeting considered key agenda items, including reports from the Administrative and Budgetary Commission, the Executive Commission, the Rules Commission, and the Information and Communication Commission, as well as final reports on EXPO-2025 in Osaka and the Triennale in Milan. Reports were presented on the preparation of specialised exhibitions in 2027 in Belgrade and Yokohama.
Turkmenistan was re-elected as a member of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee of the BIE for 2026-2027, reflecting the trust of the international community and strengthening the country's role in the organisation.
During the session, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan met with BIE Secretary General Dimitri Kerkentzes, who congratulated Turkmenistan on its re-election and noted the country's active participation in the work of the organisation. Particular attention was paid to the success of the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan at EXPO-2025 in Osaka, which demonstrated the country's cultural, tourist and investment potential.
