A specialised seminar on tuberculosis diagnosis was held in Ashgabat from 10 to 12 September, organised by the United Nations Development Programme in conjunction with the ‘Saglyk’ State Health Programme. The event took place at the Central Laboratory of the Center for Infectious Disease Control. This was reported by IIC.

Experts from tuberculosis hospitals in all five velayats of the country took part in the seminar. The main goal of the event was to strengthen laboratory capacity and improve the quality of medical care in the field of tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment.

Participants learned about modern approaches to diagnosing the disease and mastered the practical application of the latest laboratory technologies. This initiative is part of a systematic effort to improve national health care and strengthen measures to combat infectious diseases in Turkmenistan.
