On 22 October, a delegation from Turkmenistan led by Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov took part in the 5th Tbilisi Silk Road Forum. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The forum, held under the slogan ‘Invest in Connectivity - Grow in Stability,’ brought together more than 2,000 participants from over 60 countries — representatives of governments, businesses, international organisations, financial institutions and the media.
In his speech, Rashid Meredov emphasised that Turkmenistan views security as a comprehensive concept based on trust, preventive diplomacy and neutrality.
The Foreign Minister proposed the development of a Global Security Strategy and reiterated Turkmenistan's commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In addition, the Turkmen side put forward an initiative to create an international platform for the protection of the ecosystems of the Caspian and Black Seas and proposed to declare 2028 the Year of International Law.
The forum featured panel discussions on transport, logistics, the development of the Middle Corridor, energy, digital technologies and investment opportunities in Georgia.
