During the meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on 11 September, the delegation of Turkmenistan raised the issue of the role of neutrality in modern international relations. The statement was made during the presentation of the report by the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Mr Pere Joan Pons Sampietro. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Representatives of Turkmenistan confirmed the country's unwavering commitment to the principles of positive neutrality, recognised at the level of the United Nations. It was noted that within the framework of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Turkmenistan consistently initiates activities aimed at strengthening dialogue and promoting the principles of neutrality as an effective tool for ensuring international peace and security.

Particular attention was paid to the successful experience of holding two international conferences of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Ashgabat in 2023 and 2024, which brought together parliamentarians, experts and representatives of international organisations. The meeting emphasised the importance of organising such regular events to promote multilateral cooperation and strengthen mutual trust between states.
