Ashgabat has taken an important step in modernising its urban economy by signing a $60 million contract with the Chinese company Zoomlion. Under the agreement, the capital of Turkmenistan will receive a fleet of specialised vehicles capable of working in extreme conditions - in 45-degree heat and sandstorms. It is reported by the Internet publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.
Of particular importance is the establishment of a local service centre that will provide round-the-clock support for the equipment. Director of ‘Changsha Zoomlion Environmental Industry Co., Ltd’ Mr Fu Qu stressed on the margins of the conference ‘White City Ashgabat’ that this large-scale project opens a new page in cooperation between Turkmenistan and China.
It will be an important step in the implementation of the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative, demonstrating a successful example of technological partnership between the two countries. In the future, co-operation can be expanded by sharing experience and introducing additional innovative solutions for the smart city.
