Turkmenistan showcases its culture and achievements in Tehran

On 30 September, a conference entitled ‘The Policy of Peace and Trust – the Foundation of International Security, Stability and Development’ was held in Tehran at the Cultural Institute of the Economic Cooperation Organisation to mark the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. The event was organised by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Iran, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The conference was attended by ECO Secretary General Asad Majeed Khan and his deputies, representatives of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of parliament, foreign diplomats and guests of honour.

Presentations were made by Gayipov Ilyas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Iran, the Secretary General of the ECO, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, a member of parliament and representatives of cultural circles.

During their speeches, the participants congratulated Turkmenistan on its independence anniversary, noting the country's successes in strengthening its economy and political stability, as well as highly appreciating its domestic and foreign policies. Special attention was paid to the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, which took place on 19 September.

A cultural programme was prepared for the guests, featuring musical and creative performances by Iranian Turkmen, an exhibition of national art and a tasting of traditional Turkmen dishes.
