From 7 to 11 November 2025, a delegation from Turkmenistan under the head of Minister of Culture Atageldi Shamyradov is taking part in the 26th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) in Riyadh. This was reported by IIC.

The event is attended by representatives of more than 160 countries – ministers, experts and heads of the world's leading tourism organisations.

The session's agenda focuses on issues of digital transformation in tourism, expanding international cooperation, and increasing the sustainability and inclusiveness of the industry.

Turkmenistan's participation in the UNWTO General Assembly confirms the country's commitment to developing international tourism, promoting its national cultural heritage and strengthening partnerships with foreign organisations in the field of sustainable tourism development.
