President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent congratulations to UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Organisation's founding. This was reported by the news website Asmannews.

The message notes that over eight decades, the UN has become the main centre of international efforts to ensure peace, security and sustainable development, and its initiatives and documents have laid the foundation for modern international relations.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that Turkmenistan considers cooperation with the UN to be one of the priorities of its foreign policy, including in the areas of peace and security, energy, transport, ecology and sustainable development. Turkmenistan intends to further strengthen its cooperation with the organisation.

The President of Turkmenistan also wished António Guterres health, happiness and prosperity, and the staff of the UN Secretariat further success.
