On 18 August 2025, the fifth Meeting of Senior Officials of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture was held in Trabzon, Turkey. The event was held in preparation for the 42nd regular meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the TURKSOY member countries. Turkmenistan was represented by Maya Saparova, Head of the External Relations Department of the Ministry of Culture. This was reported by the IIC.

The participants discussed issues related to strengthening cultural cooperation between Turkic peoples, including the development of youth exchange programmes, support for projects in the field of art and literature, and preparations for events within the framework of the ‘Cultural Capital of the Turkic World  2026’.

Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY, Sayit Yusuf, emphasised the importance of TURKSOY consultations for preserving and promoting common cultural values in the international arena.
