A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev, took part in the official opening ceremony of the international programme ‘Marrakech OIC Youth Capital 2025’, which was held on 30 June in Marrakech (Morocco). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of over 50 countries, ministers and more than 200 young delegates. During the visit, the Turkmenistan delegation held bilateral meetings with representatives of a number of countries and organisations, discussing the expansion of youth diplomacy, digital and vocational education, as well as the promotion of national initiatives through OIC platforms.
Special attention was paid to the development of the Central Asian Youth Dialogue, initiated by Turkmenistan in 2023. The forum participants were presented with the results of the second meeting of the Dialogue, held at the UN headquarters, which resulted in the adoption of a joint appeal by the youth of the region. The document was included in the official materials of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
Participants were also informed about the preparation of the Youth Forum within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC-3).
The programme was launched at the Marrakech Congress Centre. The event was accompanied by a cultural programme, exhibitions and interactive sessions prepared by Moroccan youth associations.
Turkmenistan's participation in the event was a significant contribution to the development of youth cooperation within the OIC and the promotion of the country's international initiatives.
