Turkmenistan is ready to coordinate interests with Central Asian countries in the field of electric power and develop partnerships in the field of innovation. This was stated by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the second ‘Central Asia – Russia’ summit, held on 9 October in Dushanbe. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The Head of State emphasised the importance of energy cooperation, proposing to coordinate electricity supplies between countries in the region and to consider opportunities for export to neighbouring states, especially in the southern direction. The President of Turkmenistan also noted the potential for cooperation in the field of renewable energy.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov called for intensifying partnership in the field of innovation, noting that technology and innovation play a key role in the internal development and competitiveness of countries.

The President of Turkmenistan expressed interest in practical cooperation with Russia and other partners in the fields of industry, agriculture, urban development and the creation of ‘smart’ cities.
