Turkmenistan participated in the ‘Central Asia + Japan’ Energy Dialogue

On 16 September this year, the Second Ministerial Dialogue on Economy and Energy in the ‘Central Asia + Japan’ format was held, chaired by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. The event was held in a hybrid format with the participation of heads of relevant ministries of the fuel and energy sector of Central Asian countries. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The key topics of discussion were the prospects for the development of energy cooperation, the transition to carbon neutrality, ensuring sustainable economic growth, and the introduction of advanced technologies in the fuel and energy complex.

Following the meeting, the participants reached agreements on the development and implementation of joint projects in the field of renewable energy sources aimed at achieving carbon neutrality in the region. The parties also confirmed their intention to deepen the partnership between the countries of Central Asia and Japan in the energy sector.
