Turkmenistan considers the North-South international transport corridor along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea to be one of the key areas of cooperation in Eurasia. This was stated by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the second ‘Central Asia – Russia’ summit, held on 9 October in Dushanbe, according to the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The Head of State noted that the development of a sustainable and effective logistics system between the countries of the region and Russia is of strategic importance.

According to the President of Turkmenistan, the Caspian transport and logistics hub plays an important role in establishing direct communication between Central Asia and Russia.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov also invited the summit participants to discuss the potential of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport for expanding cooperation along this route.
